The story

After my first week working on this stunning film, I was convinced that if we could have shown the footage to the commissioning editor of the Disney Nature strand, this would have been a classic feature film. Alas, we were committed to delivering the one hour and it’s a film I’ve very proud of. The image of the old lioness leaping up to try and wrap herself around the neck of a fleeing giraffe is one that is never forgotten. That shot even merited being broadcast on Planet Earth II.
