BACKGROUND
A few years ago, the Netherlands saw the return of the wolf to its natural forested areas. Wolf tells the dramatised story of how that first wolf made the journey from Germany, overcoming many obstacles, and settling down to raise the next generation of wolves.

The story
Of all the films I’ve worked on, this has the classiest opening. We storyboarded the modest drama shoot of the little boy with his grandfather arriving at the concert which powerfully pays off at the close of the film. As Peter and the Wolf unfolds the little boy’s imagination takes flight as a presence stalks him in a darkened woodland. But of course, this is the stuff of fairy tales. The film then goes on to tell the real story of the wolf…
